The Crystal Vial Chronicles
Somewhere
in Paris.
Somewhere in Paris stands a hidden Maison. Its perfumes are potions, kept in faceted amber crystal vials with pointed gold bases, each sold inside a thick leather-bound book-box — one book, one door, one chapter of the Crystal Vial Chronicles.

Whatever the potion touches turns to amber, crystal and gold.
And the Maison is not staffed by people. It is kept by the little creatures: real, humble animals of garden, field and desert — a caterpillar, a scarab, a gecko, an ant — who make the potions, bring them their ingredients, and stand guard over them.
In return, the magic lives in their bodies: each is caught mid-transformation into its chapter’s precious material, half honest flesh, half jewel.
